The recipe of Blue Lotus was created by a monk at Hua Zang Temple (华藏寺) in Ming Dynasty (1368–1644). By using different herbs, it perfectly mimic the fragrance of real Blue Lotus. Frankly speaking, this monk reached the highest level of making traditional blended incense.
According to this recipe, all spices were processed in traditional ways and blended in special order. Finally this incense perfectly mimic the fragrance of real Blue Lotus, almost the same as its essential oil. This is the art or simple magic of ancient Chinese incense.
